I know that many from around the diocese remember my twin brother, Steve, who once served as Missioner in the Eastern Region of this diocese. Last night in Hartford, Connecticut, there was a Celebration of the Ministry of the Greater Hartford Regional Ministry (for which Steve is a new Missioner). Also welcomed into the GHRM was an Hispanic Missioner, Javier, who will serve with Steve as a part of a team, serving the four congregations of the Regional Ministry. I was the preacher at the gala celebration, which included numerous presentations of various symbols of the ministry they share in that part of Connecticut. The church (St James in Hartford) was filled to overflowing. There was all sorts of music, shared by singers and other musicians from all over the GHRM. Half of the service was in Spanish (including my sermon, which was translated by Wilfrido Ramos Orench, the Bishop Suffragan, who presided at the ceremony). What a memorable occasion! I was delighted to be part of it.
