Trinity Episcopal Church on Mackinac Island is one of five churches in the Hiawatha District of the Eastern Region of the Diocese of Northern Michigan, which is part of the Protestant Episcopal Church of the United States and of the World Wide Anglican Communion. People of all faiths and denominations are always welcome at Trinity and invited to share our Eucharist.

Trinity Church was first organized as a parish in 1873. In its early years, services were held in Fort Mackinac. The present building was erected in 1882, and much of the labor to build it was donated by soldiers at the fort.

In August 2001, Bishop James Kelsey commissioned and ordained Trinity's Ministry Support Team. The purpose of the Ministry Support Team is to encourage all believers to live their baptismal ministry. Shared leadership provides opportunities for ongoing education and outreach and a full sacramental life. The women and men of the Ministry Support Team originally came together through a process of discernment as a Covenant Group and spent several years in study, community building, and spiritual development.

Trinity Church is supported by Bishop Kelsey, Ministry Development Coordinator, Kevin Thew Forrester, and Missioner Anita Wingert, from Sault Ste. Marie, who serves as a resource for the churches in the Hiawatha District.

Trinity Church hopes to forge a more viable, active community in which the person and ministry of each member and visitor is enriched and enlivened, thereby expanding our year-round ministry and service on Mackinac Island.
